What does the sight of the Indian flag inspire in you? For us at St. Francis Xavier School, it sparked a fire of curiosity and a friendly battle of the minds! This Indian National Flag Day, we swapped the usual speeches for something far more engaging: a full-fledged Inter-House Quiz Competition.
On July 28, 2025, our school hall buzzed with an incredible energy. Students from classes VIII and IX gathered not just to compete, but to celebrate the heart and soul of our nation—its rich heritage, glorious history, and amazing achievements.
A Battle of Wits: The Four-Round Challenge
This wasn’t your average quiz. We designed an amazing journey to test knowledge, speed, and adaptability. The competition unfolded over four thrilling rounds:
The General Round: A classic session that put everyone’s fundamental knowledge of India to the test.
The Slides Round: A tricky twist on the format, it challenged students to think out of the box.
The Audio-Visual Round: Always a crowd-favourite! Participants had to decode video clips and soundbites that brought India’s legacy and modern marvels to life.
The Rapid Fire Round: The grand finale! A high-pressure, high-stakes round where quick thinking was the key, and the worry of negative marking had everyone on the edge of their seats.
With every question, the excitement in the hall escalated. The audience was intrigued, cheering for their houses in a fantastic display of school spirit.

The Maestro Behind the Mic
Guiding us through this intellectual marathon was our very own Mr. Amartya Pathak. Our ever-enthusiastic English teacher was the perfect quizmaster, keeping the energy high with his insightful commentary and a natural talent for building suspense.
Tagore House Triumphs!
The competition was fierce, with the lead changing hands multiple times. In the end, after a series of challenging and exciting events, the final results were declared.
Claiming the coveted position of the champions with an outstanding performance, was Tagore House!
Securing the runner-up position with incredible determination and skill, was Netaji House!
Earning a well-deserved third position was Gandhi House!
Teresa House tried their best but it was not their day and they were compelled to be in the fourth position.
More Than a Competition – A Celebration of India
In the end, the real victory wasn’t about the points on the scoreboard. It was about the knowledge shared and the patriotic spirit ignited. Every student who participated walked away with a deeper appreciation for our nation’s story and a renewed passion for learning.
Events like these are a powerful reminder that education isn’t confined to classrooms and textbooks. They foster critical thinking, teamwork, and a sense of civic pride. At St. Francis Xavier School, we believe in an education that builds character and lights a fire in young minds. This Flag Day celebration was a perfect example of that mission in action.
Let’s carry this spirit of inquiry forward, every single day!
Jai Hind!
