June 26th, 2025
Here at St. Francis Xavier School, we believe in nurturing the whole child – mind, body, and spirit. That’s why we were absolutely thrilled to celebrate the 11th International Yoga Day on June 20th, 2025, with incredible enthusiasm and a peaceful spirit that truly resonated throughout our campus!
“All life is yoga.” – These profound words by Sri Aurobindo perfectly encapsulate our philosophy. Yoga isn’t just about bending into amazing shapes; it’s a powerful way of life that helps us find harmony, happiness, and inner peace in everything we do. It guides us towards holistic growth – physically, mentally, emotionally, morally, intellectually, socially, and spiritually.

Why Yoga for Our Youngest Minds? The Benefits are Amazing!
We’ve seen firsthand the incredibly positive impact yoga has on our students. It’s an activity that helps them develop crucial life skills and enjoy a multitude of well-being benefits, including:
A Day of Yogic Inspiration
Our Sports Club truly outdid themselves in organizing this special day. Under the expert guidance of Mr. Debojyoti Chakraborty, our talented students showcased several foundational yogic postures. It was inspiring to watch their calm focus and disciplined movements as they performed Pranayama, Surya Namaskar, Padmasana, Ardha Chakrasana, Vrikshasana, and Vajrasana.
Adding to the inspiration, our dedicated teachers – Mrs. Gargi Banerjee, Mrs. Priti Singh, and Mr. Debojyoti Chakraborty – gave a special demonstration. They powerfully highlighted the importance of seamlessly integrating yoga into daily life for overall well-being. Their commitment to this practice truly motivates us all!
We believe that incorporating yoga into our educational approach offers immense long-term benefits for our students, preparing them not just for academic success, but for a life filled with balance and well-being.
