ASISC Green Day at St. Francis Xavier School
Planting a sapling may seem like a small act-but for the students of St. Francis Xavier School, it became a powerful learning experience during the ASISC Green Day celebration, held from 17th November to 10th December 2025. With the theme “Plant Today, Thrive Tomorrow,” students didn’t just talk about caring for nature-they actually did it.
The celebrations began with an awareness walk on 27th November, where students stepped out into the nearby neighbourhood to talk about tree plantation and environmental protection. Speaking to residents, sharing leaflets, and answering questions helped students gain confidence, communication skills, and a sense of responsibility towards their surroundings.
The excitement continued on 3rd December with a tree plantation drive on the school campus. Students planted colourful seasonal flowering plants and proudly adopted their own patches. Watching their plants grow taught them patience, teamwork, and the importance of regular care-a lesson that went far beyond the garden.
On 4th December, an interactive plant-care workshop made learning fun and practical. Through pictures and simple explanations, students learned how to prepare soil, water plants correctly, and look after young saplings. This hands-on knowledge helped them feel confident and capable, encouraging them to plant and care for greenery even at home.

Most importantly, the Green Day celebration helped students understand that they can make a difference. They learned to respect nature, take responsibility for living things, work together, and develop eco-friendly habits for life.
As the plants take root on campus, so do these values in young minds-proving that when children plant today, they truly thrive tomorrow.
