When tiny lamps, Christmas trees, modaks, and goddesses walked hand in hand with soulful songs and graceful dances, the result was a festival of unity.
On 26th September 2025, the School Hall of St. Francis Xavier School came alive with colour, creativity, and cheer. The much-awaited Fancy Dress & Agomoni Programme blended tradition with talent, as students from Classes I–V and XI–XII celebrated India’s festivals in the most vibrant way possible.
This year’s celebration carried a simple yet powerful message: our festivals may differ, but their values unite us as one.
A SOULFUL BEGINNING
The programme opened with a warm welcome and prayer by Emcee Mr. Rahul C. Mojumder, followed by a breathtaking Durga Bandana dance by Sayantani Biswas (XI-S). Her graceful performance was more than art—it was a spiritual invocation of Goddess Durga, setting the perfect festive tone.
The reflection deepened with Archisman Ghoshal (XI-S), who spoke on Vidyasagar Jayanti, highlighting the reformer’s vision for education and social change.

LITTLE STARS SHINE IN FANCY DRESS
The spotlight then turned to the Fancy Dress Competition for Classes I–III—an absolute delight for the audience.
A Diwali lamp glowing with hope
A Christmas tree spreading joy
A Modak, Lord Ganesh’s favourite sweet
A Holi pichkari bursting with colours
Dr. Radhakrishnan, symbol of wisdom
Goddess Laxmi and Goddess Durga radiating grace
The children didn’t just look the part—they spoke with confidence about their chosen festival themes, turning the event into a beautiful blend of entertainment and learning.
MUSIC, POETRY & DANCE
The celebration continued with performances that tugged at hearts:
Safeerah Seikh (II-A) recited a heartfelt poem that charmed the audience.
Students of Classes I–V and XI–XII joined in a soulful Agomoni song, celebrating the arrival of Goddess Durga in perfect harmony.
The primary section’s Durga Puja dance was the showstopper—filled with devotion, colour, and high spirits.
Finally, the School Song brought teachers and students together in unity and pride, closing the programme on a powerful note.
MORE THAN AN EVENT
Fancy Dress & Agomoni 2025 was more than a cultural event—it was a celebration of creativity, community, and values. Every act, whether from the youngest performer in costume or the seniors reflecting on reformers, carried the spirit of love, respect, and togetherness.
It was a day when the hall became a canvas of tradition and talent, leaving behind memories that will linger long after the applause faded.
